I admit, I’m a child of the Silver Age of DC Comics! I grew up on Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern, the Atom, Adam Weird…and especially the Justice League of America. So I admit, “Justice League – The Unusual Frontier (Two-Disc Special Edition) ” brought a lump to my throat…it was like being a kid, again!

Buy,Download, Or Stream Justice League – The New Frontier! Click Here

Based on Darwyn Cooke’s much, nostalgic reworking of the birth of the Silver Age heroes during the transitional 1950s, the enthralling film homages the characters I grew up, loving (especially test pilot/Green Lantern Hal Jordan, the Martian Manhunter, and police scientist/Flash Barry Allen), in the context of the era, a decade of Communist paranoia, McCarthy witch hunts, the birth of the Dwelling Age, and struggle for racial equality. One element Cooke ‘lifted’ from Frank Miller’s “Dusky Knight” narrative, that of the government ordering superheroes to ’stand down’, fits this saga exceptionally well, with Superman as the only ‘approved’ hero, Batman refusing to, thus becoming a wanted fugitive, and the ‘Golden Age’ heroes forced into retirement (I was disappointed not seeing more of the JSA, other than in the opening credits, but there are a LOT of characters that DO appear!)

Of course, a novel, unstoppable, super-powered villain (the primeval, immortal ‘Centre’) picks this time to eradicate the human hurry, speedily knocking Superman out of the battle, and requiring the unusual generation of heroes, teamed with Batman and Wonder Woman, to effect the world.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Justice League – The New Frontier! Click Here

There are SO many touches I loved! A reworking of Hal Jordan’s origin as Green Lantern; the romances of Supes and Lois Lane, Jordan and Carol Ferris, and Barry Allen and Iris West; heroes I hadn’t seen in years (the Challengers of the Unknown and the Blackhawks), fighting along side Adam Unique, Green Arrow, Aquaman, and even a pre-Atom Ray Palmer; the superhero ‘Air Force’, with Wonder Woman’s invisible airplane, and the Bat-plane and Arrow-plane. Admittedly, many characters don’t net remarkable cloak time, but with a cast this tremendous, it is understandable (it would be a quandary of the ever-growing JLA of the comics, as well) .

I have to mention the assert talent interested, as the casting was dead-on! David (TV’s ‘Angel’) Boreanaz as Jordan, Neil Patrick Harris (’Doogie Howser’) as Allen, Kyle (’Twin Peaks’) MacLachlan as Superman; Lucy (’Xena’) Lawless, a PERFECT Wonder Woman, Kyra (’The Closer’) Sedgwick as Lois, Brooke Shields as Carol, Vicki Lewis as Iris…this is truly an all-star affair! Two exclaim performers deserve special recognition; Miguel Ferrer is exceptional as the Martian Manhunter, combining an alien aloofness with compassion; and Jeremy Sisto has, arguably, the BEST grunt for Batman I’ve ever heard…he really IS the Unlit Knight!

While I admit Darwyn Cooke’s novel memoir far outshines the film (unusual stories nearly always do), as someone who only sporadically looks at comics, these days, “Justice League” is a astonishing ‘blast from the past’.

Thank you, DC!

First of all, I will say this about this production…They cram a lot of DC amusing history in less than 80 minutes of cartoon. The put a question to is “Is it worth it? ” I dont know

Second, I will say this has a enormous name cast to absorb the boots of these Characters. Kyle Maclachlan bring a different to Superman. Neil Patrick Harris (who did the MTV version of Spiderman) is the Flash. Lucy Lawless (Xena) proves she is a vocal amazon as Wonder Woman. David Borenaz (Buffy’s celebrated vamp Angel) lifts the chracter of Hal Jordan to current heights. Miguel Ferrer and Kyra Sedgwick are wasted in the roles of the Martian Manhunter and Lois Lane. Law and Order Jeremy Sisco keep a modern ride on Batman.

They also have vocal stunt casting of grand audio talent who have a throw away line or three. People like Joe Mantegna, Phillip Morris and Brooke Shields are fragment of this sizable cast, but are wasted with a few throw away lines.

The yarn is faithful to Darwyn Cooke’s two section graphic original. He also does one of the two audio commentary tracks. It level-headed seems too rushed. Bruce Timm could have taken a bigger risk and done this as a three hour cartoon project, but I will grasp what I have

The production is a higher standard then most cartoons made for video, but when you push the envelope like Superman Doomsday (aka the Death of Superman), you need is push the time and the legend past 80 minutes.

There is a trailer, on this DVD, for the next made for DVD curious feature, Batman Gotham Knight…It looks qualified! Dont forget to discover this!

On the Whole, it is worth giving this tantalizing feature an airing

Masada is one of the most eagerly anticipated DVD releases of the year. This Classic TV 1981 miniseries is arguably one of the greatest ever produced in its genre, and garnered a lot of awards in its day. It is MORE than highly recommended!

Buy,Download, Or Stream Masada – The Complete Epic Mini-Series! Click Here

It is well written and has a stellar cast that more than lived up to the script. The series, based on Ernest K. Gann’s historical new The Antagonists, is a dramatization of a documented revolt by nearly a thousand Jerusalem Jews against Roman oppressors in A.D. 72 to 73.

Epic in its scope, the actors bring nobility and pathos to the ultimately engaging and tragic yarn. Following a city-wide siege by Rome’s soldiers, Jewish Zealots go into a desert fortress in the mountains of Masada of Judea. It is from that remote space that they originate their last stand against the tyrannical Roman Empire. Amazingly, their defensive battlement is strong enough to convince the enemy to negotiate after a two-year battle!

Buy,Download, Or Stream Masada – The Complete Epic Mini-Series! Click Here

The smart Peter O’Toole, portrays Cornelius Flavius Silva, commander of the Roman legions, while Peter Strauss (who was cast in several miniseries in the 80’s) portrays the Zealot leader Eleazar ben Yair, who destroy up developing an improbably respect for each other during the life-and-death struggle.

O’Toole, is unusual from the Roman conquest of Judea. Exhausted emotionally and physically, he has been affected by the constant warring, but remains the ruthless Commander of the elite Tenth Legion. He yearns to return home to Italy, but is prevented from doing so by a violent uprising of a shrimp band of fearless Jews led by the volatile renegade soldier, Eleazar ben Yair (Strauss) .

Silva is ordered to pick Eleazar and his followers. He is beset by internal strife because the brutal desert conditions have his legion teetering on the brink of mutiny, while he finds himself falling in admire with a Jewess (portrayed with sensitivity by Barbara Carerra.) At the same time, Pomponius Falco, portrayed by David Warner, is working to remove his declare.

Inside the fortress, Eleazar is struggling to withhold his followers together. A diverse mix of defected soldiers, wanted criminals along with women and children totally about 900, they struggle to gain enough food and water to survive their audacious stand against impossible, truly hopeless odds.

The actors leave nothing on the cutting room floor in their heart wrenching renditions of their unforgettable characters. Somehow, O’Toole brings humanity to his character, while Strauss is integrity, fury and courage personified.

Both of their characters hold the negotiations are exact, and record each side in superior faith, struggling to obtain a draw out of the deadly position.

Unfortunately, neither realizes that Rome has no arrangement of yielding, but instead sends thousands of soldiers in a execrable seige of Masada resulting in one of the worst tragedies in Jewish history.

Masada was brilliantly directed by Boris Sagal (The Omega Man), and the musical secure is unforgettably inspiring.

As a teacher of musty history, I am well aware of the theories surrounding the topple of Masada, as well as the cited inaccuracies in this film. However, for sheer entertainment and quality of performance, Masada is mild one colossal movie!

Buy,Download, Or Stream Masada – The Complete Epic Mini-Series! Click Here

Be advised that the shorter version (2 hours) omits a expansive deal of material included in the mighty longer mini-series format. Nevertheless, for the average viewer, the abridged version is packed with enough legend drama to suit unbiased exquisite.

Peter O’Toole’s Flavius Silva is peerless. His emotionless eloquence is an suitable portrayal of the general of Rome’s undefeated tenth legion gripping the 900 Jewish raiders who have fled to Masada’s heights. Peter Strauss (Eleazar) nearly matches O’Toole’s brilliance as the fiery leader of the Jewish rebels, who select to die ’stealing victory’ from the Romans rather than surrendering.

I have been to Masada twice, and honestly–it was nearly impossible to assert that the film really wasn’t shot at the area! The highlight of the film is the massive siege engine’s ascent up the Roman ramp, and the battering ram’s assault on the wall. The concluding suicide sequence is handled with reserve and tact.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Masada – The Complete Epic Mini-Series! Click Here

The final forty minutes are underscored by an exhilarating musical bag that serves to heighten the tension as the inevitable outcome nears. The demolish is replete with superbly written dialogue, as well as attention to detail in evidencing the engineering expertise of Extinct Rome.

Because grand of what is known about the sincere chronicle of Masada is speculation, the less one knows about the incident, the more one can devour the film. Seen for what it–great entertainment, and not a history lesson, Masada will not fail to please.

Jean Arthur sparkles in this wartime comedy, as Molly Truesdale, a sweet, blooming salesgirl overwhelmed by 3 overzealous suitors! To rep some peace and composed, she takes a bus tour out west, a prance that sounded romantic in the depart brochures, but grows uninteresting, after humdrum days pass, and she has to fend off passes by the tour guide (Phil Silvers, in one of his many terrific laughable relief roles of the ’40s)!

Truesdale finally decides to combat her ‘cabin fever’ on the bus by attending a rodeo. She has a fantastic time, until one of the contestants literally falls into her lap! As the two disentangle themselves, she gets a superior scrutinize at Duke Hudkins (John Wayne), and it’s savor at first watch!

Duke is the suitor she’d always dreamed of; elegant, virile, and ‘all-man’, and she begins a pursuit of the cowboy that is both uncharacteristic for her, and confusing for him! Despite warnings from his best friend, Waco (Charles Winninger) that this girl was after more than objective a night of partying and passion, Duke invites Molly out, and the innocent city girl experiences her first evening of carousing! When, at evening’s destroy, she puts the brakes on his amorous advances, he discovers she’s not unbiased another ‘groupie’, and that he’s falling in admire with her, too…nearly as distinguished as he loves his horse!

A romantic comedy of ‘opposites’ finding moral fancy, ‘A Lady Takes a Chance’ benefits from the luscious performances of the two leads! Jean Arthur had a Meg Ryan-like quality of projecting both innocence and sexiness, and she makes Molly’s transition from ‘pursued’ to ‘pursuer’ both believable, and understandable! John Wayne is equally worthy, sexy and easy-going, yet conveying Duke’s confusion at the feelings he has for Molly, and his slack realization that he’ll have to ‘take a chance’, himself, to collect her adore!

True, the anecdote follows your basic ‘boy meets girl-boy loses girl-boy gets girl’ scenario, but under the determined direction of pros William A. Seiter (who directed Astaire and Rogers in ‘Roberta’, and Shirley Temple, in ‘Stowaway’), and Henry Hathaway (the legendary filmmaker who would lisp Wayne’s Oscar-winning performance in ‘True Grit’, 26 years later), the yarn has a freshness and charm that is unbeatable!

Whether you’re a Wayne and Arthur fan, or you unprejudiced cherish a romantic comedy with a cheerful ending, ‘A Lady Takes a Chance’ will bring a smile!

This is far from Jean Arthur’s classic comedies of the gradual 1930s and the early 40s, but she’s as charming as ever. John Wayne is also surprisingly top-notch as the romantic leading man, but the film is a showcase for Jean Arthur’s talents from beginning to extinguish (it was produced by her husband) .

The DVD, however, is unpleasant. Its watchable, but you feel like you’re watching the film on 1980s VHS, slow night TV or one of those cheap public domain DVDs. The image is very soft, there are visible scratches and the sound is very abominable. Quiet, I doubt that Criterion will ever occupy a film like this one, so if you like 1940s romantic comedies, and Jean Arthur in particular, you should “bewitch a chance” on this one.

I watched every episode of this season. It is captivating and can be worn for educational purposes. As host, Terry’s quirky demeanor helps bring a definite endearing and down-to-earth feeling to the display even if he does glean a bit repetitive and ‘cheesy’ at times (I counted no less than eleven times he obsolete the word ‘awesome’ during one of the episodes) . It is remarkable better than a wearisome narrator that typically dominates historical productions. Furthermore, the experts feeble to rep to the truth of these warrior cultures definitely know their stuff. Overall, I recommend this series and glimpse forward to another season when/if they derive around to it.

Each episode delves into the mythical, social, and technological aspects of novel Warrior cultures: Mayan, Hawaiian, Samurai, Zulu, Viking, Malta, Sparta, German Barbarians, English Knights, and America’s Special Forces.

I first saw “Amadeus” around 1984 when it was first released. Besides being a visual and musical masterpiece of film making, it kick-started my life-long adore of and appreciation for classical music.

I won’t show the narrative synopsis as it’s already been thoroughly described both by Amazon.com’s primary review and multiple customers here already.

I will say though that this edition, ‘The Directors Cut’, is a major improvement over the first DVD release. First, (and finally!!), the movie is now a single-side DVD…gone is the annoying 2 sided ‘flipper’ that the first release was. You can now scrutinize “Amadeus” from open to enact without having to obtain up and turn it over. For my money, that’s reason enough alone to acquire this original version.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Amadeus! Click Here

Secondly, ‘The Directors Cut’ now adds about 20-30 minutes of previously deleted scenes, placed support into where they were originally intended. Personally I pick up some of the newer stuff enhances the epic overall and fills in some details that were left vague in the unique theatrical release. I won’t give away any details, but there is a current scene between Mozart’s wife, Constanza, and Salieri, Mozart’s chief musical rival (and secret arch-enemy) early in the movie that puts an whole original perspective of Salieri’s hooked and battered psyche.

As for the DVD itself, the recount and sound quality are both exemplary. Included is a second disk with bonus material including interviews and making-of extras.

If you loved the recent, you owe it to yourself to buy up this version. If you’re modern to classical music and Mozart, this is the best space to commence.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

If you’re a fan of the recent theatrical carve of “Amadeus” you’ll have mixed feelings about the “Director’s Lop”. While I perfer the latter for a number of reasons, the feeling and straggle of the recent theatrical version differs somewhat from the “Director’s Slit”. The most indispensable allotment are extended scenes that include Salieri agreeing to serve Constanze if she has an affair with him. He ends up rejecting her when she shows that she so loves her husband that she would be willing to do so. A number of the opera scenes are extended as well with more business after the exhibit between Mozart and his leading lady. There’s also a longer sequence engrossing Salieri’s visit to Mozart comissioning the “Requiem”. Most of the material adds to the power of the film while a few sequences unprejudiced give additional encourage memoir on various characters. The fresh theatrical version which won an 8 Oscars runs about 25 minutes shorter than the 3 hour “Director’s Chop”. Forman also provide a though-provoking commentary track for the film along with writer Peter Shaffer (”Equus”) .

The image quality for the “Director’s Crop” is pleasurable to the unique theatrical version. The film was restored to its current luster for re-release resulting in considerable more natural flesh tones and a sharper visual image as well. The colors which play in necessary piece in conveying the themes of each sequence are more robust and intellectual. The theatrical version looks quite obedient although it was first issued on DVD as a “flipper” (meaning you had to flip it over) DVD after roughly two hours to witness the last third of the movie. The huge advantage for the theatrical version is Neville Mariner’s glean on an isolated track.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Amadeus! Click Here

The second disc of the “Director’s Cleave” has one terrific extra, a brief talent list and the new theatrical trailer. The friendly behind-the-scenes documentary covers the highlights and difficulties that Forman faced in translating Shaffer’s stage play to the shroud. At nearly 40 minutes it could have provided more background including outtakes, rehearsals and auditions but it’s quite a few documentary as it is. There was plenty of room on the second disc to include Mariner’s isolated secure but the documentary is really all we bag.

As to which is better–it’s a toss up. Both versions of the film work extremely well although I pick the “Director’s Prick” for the added footage, the sharper more robust image quality and the higher definintion anamorphic transfer. I do miss the isolated Marriner net of Mozart’s music that appeared on the current disc in 5.1. Given the capacity of the second disc, it could easily have been transferred and would have added value to this special edition.

A memoir of envy, lust and arouse “Amadeus” focuses on the brief life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mozart (Oscar nominee Tom Hulce giving a terrific performance) was a child prodigy who detached his first fraction at the age of 4 and produced a remarkably spacious body of work for such a brief life. His nemesis is court composer Antonio Salieri (Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham in a much performance) . This is really Salieri’s fable as his jealousy drives him to kill Mozart. Salieri is so consumed with his jealousy, that while recognizing the beauty and originality of Mozart’s music, he can’t assist but want to kill its creator. Salieri’s quaint compositions can’t believe a candle to Mozart’s complex, unusual and knowing pieces.

Featuring inspired supporting performances by Christine Ebersole, Jeffrey Jones, Simon Callow (”Three Weddings and a Funeral”), the only performer that doesn’t do anything for me is Elizabeth Berridge as Constanze. She replaced Meg Tilly unprejudiced prior to shooting. The heavenly production obtain, cinematography and provocative direction compose “Amadeus: The Director’s Chop” an experience worth savoring. This deluxe edition features a running commentary by director Milos Forman, writer Peter Shaffer (”Equus”), a mountainous 30 cramped documentary on the making of the movie and a terrific 5.1 Dolby Digital remastered soundtrack. Restored from the unusual film elements, the film hasn’t looked this robust and radiant in quite some time. The digital anamorphic transfer looks apt and almost rich enough to eat. This version doesn’t replace the novel theatrical version but is more of an enhanced experience for those who loved the first film. Since this version runs roughly three hours, be prepared for a long evening.

Highly recommended, this examination of the destructive power of jealousy smooth resonates with power, passion and improbable music. If you’re not an opera buff, I’d suggest skipping this for, while the film is noteworthy, portion of the power comes from appreciating the music that Mozart wrote. We survey a lot of excerpts from a variety of Mozart’s operas throughout the movie. Whichever version of the movie you settle, you’ll positive to be contented. I’d give the “Director’s Slice” a little edge for better relate.

The class screening of this video was one of the most astounding experiences of my life. Campbell offers astounding insight into the human condition through meticulous analysis of mythology from all over the world. I found it very enchanting that George Lucas’s films were inspired by mythology. One can delve into all sorts of unusual films and get situational, character, and symbolic archetypes that occurred in feeble mythology. Joseph Campbell possesses one of the most zealously inquisitive minds on this planet, and he proves it in this video. This does not deserve to be called a simple “video”. It was an experience which will never be reproduced by another film company as long as man roams the earth.

Campbell has many spicy philosophies. One of these ideas which he portrayed in the video was that human beings should listen to the inner-voice. In this sense, we can all be dissenters (or mavericks) . Joseph Campbell was a maverick of sorts until his tragic death in 1987. We could learn a lot about the art of being a maverick from this fearless, colorful man. He devoted his entire life to studying mythology, with exiguous regard to what others understanding of this practice. Campbell states in the video that every society can be evaluated to an tremendous degree simply by examining what kind of stories and myths were created in said society. Also, one can view how similar all societies in the world are. Many of Campbell’s statements characterize to Carl Jung’s theory of the collective unconscious. Frequent occurrences in mythology throughout the world exhibit that all people might have similar basic understanding processes.

The only aspect of the video that was not up to par was the interviewing style. I and a number of the other viewers felt that it was old and not hard-hitting enough. However, the overall video was a masterpiece. I was thoroughly impressed by this pristine work of art. Joseph Campbell was a God among ants, and his contributions to society shall be remembered forever more.

If you’ve read “The Heroes Trek,” then you won’t gather any current information here. What you will pick up, however, is extensive interview footage of Campbell that, as far as I know, isn’t available anywhere else. And if you haven’t read the book, this is an first-rate introduction into Campbell’s principal insights (the religions/myths of the world aren’t impartial untrue stories…they are incredibly meaningful expressions of Man’s wonder before the mystery of Everything…among others), and how he managed to near them.

A nice quality production, intelligently written, with plentiful input from the man himself.

One put a question to though…Campbell claims that he saved up enough money playing saxophone in a jazz combo to go without a job for 5 years…simply living in a cottage and reading all day!!! Speaking as a semi-professional musician, how the heck did he manage THAT?!?!?!?

Most people say “it ain’t Miyuzaki”. However, the contrast (besides style) is action. This movie pack has a lot more to do with cunning and ingenuity than unprejudiced straight tell and blow em’ up. For the narrate, I am not a fan of Terry Goodkind’s “Sword of Truth” fantasy series, so I didn’t really inquire of to appreciate the TV adaptation.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Legend of the Seeker: The Complete First Season! Click Here

But to my surprise, “The Sage of the Seeker: The Complete First Season” turned out to be a surprisingly solid fantasy adventure series, with plenty of swords, monsters, lush Recent Zelaand scenery, sorcery and a likable young Prophesied Hero. It has some cheesy genre cliches at the beginning, but swiftly evolves into a good-hearted, action-packed series.

Young woodsman Richard Cypher (Craig Horner) rushes to befriend a Confessor woman who’s being attacked by D’Haran soldiers — and promptly finds himself accused of being her accomplice, and hunted by the D’Harans (who have made it through a magical barrier than cuts off the Westlands) . When he goes to catch befriend from the eccentric wizard Zed (”He’s crazy! He talks to his chickens!”), he encounters the glowing Confessor Kahlan Amnell (Bridget Regan) once again.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Legend of the Seeker: The Complete First Season! Click Here

The vast convey from Zed and Kahlan: Richard is a prophesied hero called a Seeker, who must utilize a magical sword to defeat the imperfect overlord Darken Rahl (Craig Parker) . When his life is ripped apart by execute and treachery, Richard reluctantly accepts his destiny, and sets off across the Midlands with Kahlan and Zed.

Unfortunately the Midlands have plenty of problems as well — cruel D’Haran soldiers, Mord-Sith, magical maps, a boy who can read minds, some inconvenient magic shape-changing, the birth of a forbidden male Confessor, a string of impossible murders (including one seemingly committed by Richard), a malevolent wizard who is trying to compose novel Confessors, corruption in the Westlands, a plague created by Rahl, and a visit to the unnerved tomb of an musty Seeker crooked on possessing Richard’s body.

In the course of their travels, the trio also learn that Rahl is searching for the Boxes of Orden, which can give ultimate power to the one who owns all three. Richard and his friends struggle to withhold the magical boxes hidden, but a abominable mistake threatens to derail the Seeker’s quest.

It’s not well-known to be a fan of Goodkind’s books to relish “Record of the Seeker” — it’s only loosely based on Goodkind’s first doorstopper, and quite a few things are changed. Fortunately the TV indicate has plenty of merits on its hold — the lush scenery porn of Unique Zealand, intricate fable arcs and standalone adventures, and plenty of swords’n’sorcery. You almost forget sometimes that it’s yet another epic about a prophecied hero.

Each episode has plenty of action, usually lively Richard’s acrobatic sword fights with D’Haran soldiers, and some fun magical twists (a talking doll) . The writers also deftly avoid the Ye Olde Fantasye trap by penning dialogue that is breezy, straightforward and frequently laughable (”Remember, before chopping off the head, effect determined the body is dreary lest the head grow serve.” “What lesson is THAT? ” “Not a lesson, unprejudiced something I once read in a cookbook”) .

It does have some flaws, however — the first two episodes are bogged down in genre cliches (Richard becoming a master swordsman overnight), cheesy moments (Richard’s sword being struck by LIGHTNING? ), and too worthy slow-motion. Fortunately things even out after the beginning of the series.

Craig Horner is absolutely perfect for the role, especially since Destined Heroes tend to be rather stupid. Instead he perfectly portrays a down-to-earth goodness and kindness, which is tempered from innocence to maturity as the season winds on. But he brilliantly pulls off Richard’s darker moments, including a horrendous Mord-Sith “training” session that leaves Richard broken, twitching and doe-eyed. He’s also ridiculously magnificent, and the directors choose beefy advantage of that (the whole bridge-building scene) .

And Horner has fantastic chemistry with Regan, who does a big job as a strong, butt-kicking woman who can enslave anyone with a touch. Bruce Spence does a wonderfully eccentric, lanky ragged wizard who frequently batters Richard with life lessons, and Parker makes a surprisingly human Rotten Overlord, whose cruelty and manipulations are revealed to be an obsessive desire for “harmony.” Doesn’t finish him from being deliciously hateable, though.

“Story of the Seeker: The Complete First Season” is wobbly at first, but soon becomes a well-acted fantasy series that stands on its have apart from Goodkind’s fantasy novels. Definitely a advantageous demonstrate, and promises to become better.

1.) “Account of the Seeker” will advance to Blu-Ray eventually. At the Humorous Con panel yesterday, producers said a Blu-Ray plot won’t be released until after prices plunge (they mentioned this will happen around winter/Christmastime) . You can check the official Terry Goodkind board for more specific details. So for those of you who thought on rating this reveal negatively solely because of this, don’t bother.

2.) The note and the books are not the same. Some of the changes have been for the worse; I was disappointed that Kahlan went from the daughter of a queen to an orphan with a rough life. The Box of Orden storyline could have been handled with more care as well. On the other hand, the writers seemed to have done away with the Star Wars-esque articulate at the destroy of Book 1. A wise go on their fraction as the note would have felt too distinguished like a medieval version of the Star Wars saga.

3.) The production values have been consistently impressive. The cinematography and art direction are some of the best I’ve seen on TV to date. At times it almost feels like I’m watching a movie instead of a TV indicate.

4.) I care for the cast. Bridget Regan (Kahlan) is the most gifted performer, managing to credibly picture Kahlan as a strong warrior top-notch of warmth and kindness. And although she currently has appeared in only two episodes, Jessica Marais (Denna) is the show’s greatest villain. She can finish so considerable with unprejudiced a snappily sight and obscene teach.

So if you’re looking for a fun genre series with righteous characters and though-provoking special effects, you should try “Anecdote of the Seeker”. The first few episodes can be unimaginative, but by Episode 7 everyone steps up to the plate and manages to get one of the most curious fantasy series in new years.

The favorite 50-episode anime series that was shown in Japan wait on in 2005-2006 and also in the US via “Adult Swim” on the Cartoon Network finally starts to accumulate some steam with more developments on the past of Saya. What we have learned in the previous three volumes is that Saya is a person that has a special power and with the Red Shield, they status out to the road in an anguish to extinguish vampires aka Chiropterans and Diva, their queen. Representing Red Shield is David who watches over Saya and her two adoptive brothers Kai and Riku. Saya is aided by Hagi, who happens to have a special ability in order to protect Saya and joining the team is their bodyguard Lewis and Red Shield doctor Julia Silverstein. You suspect something about Saya because she always receives these blood transfusions and her blood somehow powers up her sword and her eyes turn dazzling red before she decimates her opponent.

In volume 4, the group now ends up in Russia to notice for some leads on Diva and the Chiropterans and a doctor who may have created them or clones of them.

VIDEO & AUDIO:

“BLOOD+” was created for television and the video is presented in 1:33:1 chubby camouflage. The animation is quite nice with character designs by Chizu Hashii, which this series is his first as a character designer. The backgrounds are quite nice as the series tends features outdoor and indoor scenes but because this is more or less a vampiric anime that is quite black and violent, the anime has it’s murky feel to it. But otherwise, I felt the anime was lovely frigid and stylish.

As for audio, audio is presented only in stereo. So, there are not distinguished effects being mature on all speakers but if your peril is grunt acting, the English dub work is well done as the explain of Saya is done by common video game and anime mutter actress Kari Wahldren and favorite anime yelp actor Crispin Freeman does a huge job as Hagi. And the Japanese mumble work is awesome! Both Eri Kitarmura and Katsuyuki Konish also do a spacious job and the same goes to the others for their assert work.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

Unfortunately, there are no special features included.

The fourth volume of “BLOOD+” is quite important because it finally reveals what Saya and Haji truly are. Why she has these special abilities and how her blood causes fright amongst the Chiropterans!

The animation and artistic backgrounds are done quite well in this series and for those who are looking for an anime that is sunless, violent and bloody and action-packed, definitely can obtain that with this anime series. But if there is one thing to remember is that “BLOOD+” is a 50-episode anime series, so you can ask around 12-volumes total. It’s a kind of series that you want to pause in for the long accelerate.

As for the DVD, I do wish there were some kind of special features included. Commentary or production stills, or textless opening or ending. Something at least. Well, there is one thing that you will glance in “BLOOD+” and that is the inclusion of the sponsor stills that typically follow the intro theme in Japan.

For those who have been involving about this anime series, the first thing I must say is that if you are wondering if “BLOOD+” is a continuation of the “BLOOD: The Last Vampire” series, the respond is “no”. This is an novel fable and it has spawned not only anime series but manga and video games as well in Japan. Second, because this anime series is unrated, this anime although shown on Japanese television, is definitely not appropriate for young children. There is plenty of violence and blood in this series. So, that is another distinguished tidbit to know about this series.

Overall, the series is well done and I enjoyed it. It helps to have that awesome theme song by HYDE singing “Season’s Call” kicking off the intro of the series and wintry characters and shadowy villains. So, you net a gorgeous amount of action with each episode.

Volume 4 is pivotal and necessary in the series, so if you have the first three volumes of “BLOOD+”, you definitely want to check this one out!

The battle continues as Red Shield and Saya follows Diva and her Chevaliers to Russia. Swear fade, splendid food, white snow, chilly nights, and bloody swords. Outside of the cold action, the mountainous Grunt Actors and Actresses, the artwork, there is a developing area that hooks you in. Because while Saya Otonashi gets closer to her target we learn more and more about her background. I don’t wish to spoil it for you, but we learn a few shockers. And we also realize that Diva’s protectors have plans for Saya. Too awful there are no extras but five episodes are expedient enough.
